I fear for the lives of chibok girls, says Osun Speaker

Osogbo –  Mr Najeem Salaam, the Speaker of Osun House of Assembly, has expressed concern over the lack of information on the where-about and condition of the over 217 chibok school girls abducted about 500 days ago.
Salaam, in a statement through his Chief Press Secretary, Goke Butika, on Friday in Osogbo, urged Nigerians to intensify prayers for the safe return of the girls.
According to him, his fear is based on the fact that despite the progress recorded by the military against the Boko Haram sect, nothing has been heard about the girls.
“It would be a collective callousness to move on as a nation when the school girls are sandwiched somewhere in an untold suffering, pain and psychological distress, while their only crime was that they heeded the call for education of girl-child.

“Nigerians should step up prayers to find the girls as the military advances on the Boko Haram terrorist sect in the North East.
“This is a dark page of our history book in this nation. We have played too much politics with the issue of Chibok girls.
“We have partitioned the problem as sectional, despite the fact that the world body keeps reminding us that it is a national challenge; It is high time we kept our collective fingers crossed for the sake of humanity.
“We must find the Chibok girls before we can move on as a nation,” he said.(NAN)
