Vienna – The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the UN nuclear watchdog on Tuesday called for contributions to facilitate the inspection of Iran’s nuclear programme following July agreement between Iran and six world powers.
IAEA chief, Yukiya Amano, called on member states to provide the agency with the money it needed, saying the extra budgetary contributions of 924,000 dollars monthly would be exhausted by the end of September.
Amano said the annual costs for verification and monitoring nuclear activities in Iran was 10.63 million dollars.
He said the agency also needed funds in the run-up to the implementation of the July 14 deal, which is expected early 2016.
