Apparently concerned about the recent kidnap cases in Kogi State that involved high profile individuals the Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase, has deployed 350 Police Officers to Kogi State to assist the State Police Command to combat crimes and criminalities in the state.

Recall that unknown gunmen had abducted a High Court Judge, who is yet to regain his freedom and also a serving commissioner in the state who was recently rescued by the police The Kogi State Commissioner of Police, Samuel Ogunjemilusi who made the disclosure while parading 13 armed robbery suspects arrested between May and June, this year, at the State Police Command Headquarters in Lokoja, said the state now has a new lease of peace.
The commissioner, who paraded suspected armed bandits also revealed that several guns and ammunition and other dangerous weapons were recovered during the arrest.

The suspected hoodlums, according to the Commissioner had been operating along Lokoja-Okene, Lokoja-Kabba, Lokoja-Ajaokuta-Itobe-Anyigba and Idah-Ibaji Roads among others, unleashing terror on the citizens.
Ogunjemilusi gave the assurance that he will leave no stone unturned to ensure proper prosecution of the suspected robbers, to serve as deterrent to citizens who may venture into the dastardly act in future.
The commissioner however, observed that since the arrest of the suspected robbers the rate of robbery on the highway along the affected routes across the state has drastically reduced.
