Nigeria striker, Odion Ighalo, has said he has joined Watford to help the Championship outfit win promotion to the Premier League at the end of the season.
Ighalo joined the Hornets on a season-long loan from Udinese on Tuesday after another loan spell at Spanish club, Granada CF.
In his first interview published on Watford’s official website, the former Nigeria under-20 player made clear his ambition with the English Championship club.
He added that he is aware of the Hornets’ failed attempt to win promotion to the elite division in England and now wants to change all that.[eap_ad_2]
“It is a good opportunity for me to showcase my talent and to help the team to get to the Premier League. Even two seasons ago I watched the playoffs and they almost gained promotion so I was following Watford because it is the same team as Granada, Udinese.
“Last season I have been watching their games and all that; they have a good team and it was unfortunate that they didn’t have the opportunity to play in the Premier League. I am here to help the team, to do my best and make sure we work hard to get promotion,” Ighalo said.
Ighalo scored twice for Granada in 16 La Liga appearances last season. (supersport.com)[eap_ad_3]
