Imo Government hands over Resin Paints Industry to Chinese firm

Owerri –  The Imo Government said it had finally handed over the Resin Paints Industry in Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area of the state to Skyrun Group, a corporate Chinese company.

This is contained in a statement issued on Thursday in Owerri by Mr Sam Onwuemedo, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor.

Gov. Rochas Okorocha in the statement, commended the cooperation of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) and the transparency of the bank in the buy-back process.

He said that Skyrun, a renowned Chinese corporation showed interest to do business in Imo beginning with Resin Paints.

The governor said they would also attract good business from around Africa and beyond and also generate employment for Imo citizens.
Okorocha charged the people of the area to cooperate with Skyrun group and ensure the property is well protected.

Earlier, the General Manager of Skyrun, Mr Shai Shao, expressed appreciation at the gesture.

Shao said the company came to the state in line with the “job, job, job; factory, factory, factory; and industry, industry, industry,’’ policy of the state government.

He asked for the cooperation of the indigenes to operate freely. (NAN)
