…Rolls out eight-point agenda of his administration if elected into office

Abuja (Sundiata Post) – Ahead of the party primaries of the Labour Party (LP) in Imo State, the governorship aspirant, AIG (Dr) Charles Ugomuoh (rtd) has assured of citizens participation in government services in his administration.
He gave the assurance on Tuesday during a media parley with journalists in Abuja where he rolled out his eight-point agenda in a statement titled: A new Era Imo Governorship 2023.
Ugomuoh who promised to run a transparent, accountable and citizen driven government said his areas of focus will include; Security, education, health services and investment and trade.
Others include, ICT, road infrastructure, employment creation as well as sports, youth development and women empowerment.
The retired senior Police officer who acknowledged the pivotal role of peace as bedrock for all round advancement; be it socio-political, economical and technological advancement, stressed that security in Imo State will be intelligent and technology driven.
He further stated that women inclusiveness and participation in governance will be a matter of deliberate State policy once he is elected into office in November 2023. There will be affirmative action for women participation in Imo State Government would entrepreneurship and wealth generation opportunity would be provided for youth participation and women.
In terms of the bad roads that pervade the entire Imo state and what he will do differently to reverse the ugly trend, the security expert said he will increase the budgetary provision for road infrastructure; dualise the roads. ⁰
Similarly, on what to do to restore sports to its past glory and bring it back to limelight in the state, AIG Ugomuoh said poor remuneration of sportsmen and women as well as their coaches, coupled with dilapidated infrastructure are responsible for the dearth in sports sector. He pledged to reverse this ugly trend by: motivating the sportsmen and women and their Head coaches, provision of adequate training facility, engagement of world class coaches.
