OWERRI – The Imo State Government says it will partner with beauty queen, Miss Ezinne Anyaoha, to ensure the success of her pet project aimed at educating young girls on sex-related issues and abuses. Gov. Rochas Okorocha made the pledge on Friday when Anyaoha, the current Miss Nigeria Beauty Queen, paid him a courtesy visit at Government House, Owerri. Okorocha expressed joy that an Imo daughter emerged the 2013 Miss Nigeria and congratulated her for the feat. The governor advised the beauty queen to partner with the state Ministry of Women Affairs to ensure the full realisation of her noble cause. He said that young innocent girls were most vulnerable to rape and abuse. Anyaoha in her comments, commended the governor on the free education programme and the massive development of infrastructure in the state. She said her pet project was borne out of the need to address the abuse of young and innocent girls in Nigeria. According to her, the project seeks to create awareness and assist young girls to discuss issues of abuse and also to support the girls. She called on the state government and other well-meaning Nigerians to partner with her for the success of her project. The Speaker, Imo State House of Assembly, Mr Benjamin Uwajimogu, and the Chief of Staff Government House, Mr Jude Ejiogu, were among those present during the visit. Anyaoha, a graduate of Abia State University and presently a student of the Nigerian Law School, Lagos is the 38th Miss Nigeria Beauty Queen. She also won the Ada Imo beauty pageant in 2013. (NAN)
