JOS- A 28-year-old Imo State University graduate, Chiamobi Henry, on Thursday appeared before a Federal High Court in Jos for allegedly possessing illegal drugs and other banned substances.
Also arraigned with Henry were Bala Abdul, 33; Emmanuel Samuel, 21, as well as Sunday Williams, 30.
Among the drugs tendered by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Prosecuting Counsel, Sarah Oketola, were psychotropic substances like diazepam, tramadol and Indian Hemp.
The offence is punishable under Section 19 of the NDLEA Act, Cap N30, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004 (as amended).
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reports that the suspects, who appeared before Justice Lewis Alagoa, pleaded guilty to the charge and prayed for leniency.
Alagoa, after listening to both the prosecution and the defendants in the matter, ordered that the suspects be remanded in the custody of the NDLEA.
He, then, adjourned further hearing in the case to Nov. 20. (NAN)
