Onitsha – The Millennium Merchants Importers Association, Sokoto Road, Onitsha, Anambra, has promised to support Gov. Willie Obiano’s administration realise its internally generated revenue drive.
The Chairman of the association, Mr Tochukwu Adiah, made the pledge shortly after his inauguration with six other executive members in Onitsha on Thursday.
Adiah lauded Obiano for taking the state to greater heights in the face of the present economic challenges confronting the nation.
“The impact of the current government has been directly felt by people of the state and members of the association in particular.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”70560″]
“We commend the governor for sustaining the security drive that has made traders and, indeed, the people of the state sleep with their two eyes closed,” he said.
He said the association was ready to support the government’s policies with prompt payment of taxes and levies in its bid to place the state on the front burner.
The chairman, however, appealed to the state government to assist the association with patrol vehicles, boreholes and additional fire-fighting equipment in markets. (NAN)
