Independence Day: Buhari addresses Nigerians from Eagle Square

President will address Nigerians the Eagle Square in Abuja on October 1, as part the activities commemorating the Independence Day Anniversary celebration.


According to a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on and Publicity, Femi Adesina, the open air address, which will place after an anniversary parade, will replace the traditional early morning radio and television .

The statement, however, noted that the anniversary celebration programme, which will 10am, will be live on television and radio stations.


“As part activities commemorating the 60th Independence Anniversary the country, President will address the the Eagle Square, Abuja, on , October 1, 2020.

“The live address will commence after the Anniversary Parade beginning at 10am which will be covered by television and radio stations especially the network services the Television Authority (NTA) and the Federal Radio Corporation Nigeria (FRCN).


“Please note that in view of the open-air live address, the traditional early morning October 1 Presidential will not feature on ,” the statement reads.
