AKURE (SUNDIATA POST)- The Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Chief Olamide Oladiji, has extolled the resilience of Nigeria’s founding fathers, as the nation marks its 64th independence anniversary.
Oladiji, in a statement on Tuesday in Akure, described the founding fathers as true heroes that must be remembered for the sacrifices they paid for the nation’s existence.
According to the speaker, all hands must be on deck for a stronger and better country through hard work, loyalty and love for the nation.
“Nigerians should pray for the continued and overall development of the country, and also appreciate President Bola Tinubu for his various, robust initiatives.
“With the president’s experience, prowess and tenacity, Nigeria will soon take its rightful position as the giant of Africa, while the current economic challenges will soon become a thing of the past,” he said.
Oladiji also praised Gov. Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State for his achievements, especially in the areas of security, infrastructure and health, among others.
Similarly, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Ondo State, in a statement by its Publicity Secretary, Mr Alex Kalejaye, asked Nigerians to look ahead with confidence that the country would be better.
According to the party, Nigeria at 64 can stand as a symbol of hope, not only for its people, but for the African continent at large.
It expressed the belief that the strategic policies of President Tinubu would restore Nigerians’ hope, while the Gov. Aiyedatiwa-led administration would impact all strata of sectors for positive development of the state. (NAN)
