Neeraj Sharma, Spokesman State Election Commission said in New Delhi that Shyam Saran Negi, a retired school teacher, voted in the northern state of Himachal Pradesh during the latest phase of polling,
He said Negi had voted in every single election since 1951-52, when India held its first parliamentary elections after gaining independence from British rule.
Negi said this time again, he has not missed an opportunity to cast his valuable vote.
He appealed to voters to go out to vote and elect an honest leader who could end government corruption and check price rises.
The State election authority accorded Negi a red-carpet welcome and was presented with a shawl and garland when he arrived and was greeted by local officials. (Xinhua/NAN)
