Jakarta – Indonesian government on Thursday announced 150 per cent import tax on alcoholic drinks.
The country’s Finance Ministry said the tax was applicable to brandy, whisky, gin, rum and vodka or other beverages with alcohol content.
The ministry, however, listed lower import duties for other beverages with lower alcohol content, noting that such beverages include sparkling wine, cider or sake.
It said non-alcoholic beverages such as tea and coffee now carry a 20 per cent import tax.
