Jakarta – Indonesia’s Counter Terrorism Agency said on Monday it was investigating a video threat posted online, purporting to be from Islamic State militants.
The head of the National Counter-terrorism Agency, Saud Nasution, said he asked for the video to be blocked, although it remained accessible on Facebook.
In the nine minute video posted on Facebook on Sunday, a man identified as Commander Abu Asy-Syarki from Islamic State warned Indonesian officials to repent or face being attacked.
Asy-Syarki warned that the group’s black flag would fly above the presidential palace complex.
“We’re working with the police to find out where the video came from,” Nasution said.
