Jakarta  – An Indonesian fisherman survived three days at sea by clinging an ice box after his boat capsized off the Molucca islands last week, a rescue official said on .

“Udin Diman, 46, went out sea catch fish on Sept. 14 but his boat sank after battered by high seas,’’ Muhamad Arafah, the head of the search and rescue agency on Ternate island, said.

According him, the fisherman found on evening while holding onto the bright orange ice box, weak but good health.

“The had a good survival instinct.

“He didn’t make unnecessary movements to conserve energy. Kudos for his survival knowledge,” Arafah told dpa.

Udin returned after spending several hours .
