INEC demonstrated significant improvement in Yobe bye-election – Observer

DAMATURU – The Centre for Credible and Citizens Awareness, commended the National Electoral Commission () its conduct during Yobe bye-election.
Dr Nwambu Gabriel, the Director General the centre, disclosed this to newsmen in Damaturu.
 “The Yobe bye-election has reassured Nigerians to expect credible elections in Ekiti, Osun and the 2015 general elections,’’ Gabriel said. 
He said the commendation was based the centre’s assessment the degree compliance by to the electoral laws as it were.
According to him, assessment is sequel to reports by the centre’s officials who monitored the election in Nengere- Sabongari, Tikau, Garin-Mallam, Chileriye, Dadiso/Chukuriwa and Watinani.
“We also observed voting, sorting, counting and the announcement result had complied the relevant electoral laws and Global best Practice,’’ Gabriel said.
He also commended the security operatives, the participating parties, their supporters and the electorate for conduct of the election.
“We also commend the state government for interfering in the electoral process in the state election.
“We reiterate support in enthroning a globally accepted process which brings to cognisance equity, fair play and the rule of law in Yobe and indeed Nigeria,’’ Gabriel said. (NAN)
