KADUNA – The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the suspension of the issuance of Permanent Voter Cards earlier scheduled to begin on Friday in Kaduna State.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner, Alhaji Halliru Tambuwal, announced the postponement at a meeting with stakeholders on Thursday in Kaduna.
Represented by the Administrative Secretary, Alhaji Yusuf Hadejia, the REC said the issuance of the PVCs would now begin from Nov. 28 to 30.
He said the Continuous Voter Registration had also been shifted to Dec. 3 to 8.
According to him, the postponement is to enable the commission to prepare adequately for the exercise.
The issuance of the cards will hold in 5,101 polling units across the state, while 255 wards would be used for the continuous voter registration. (NAN)
