KASTINA – The Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) on Saturday said that the presiding officers at various polling units in Dutsinma Local Government Area, Kastina State, were replaced or redeployed for effective performance.
The Dutsinma Local Government Area, Electoral Officer, Mr Abdul Idris-Galadanci, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Dutsinma in an interview on Saturday.
He said the exercise was done in good faith and based on the assessment of their performance during the presidential election.
According to him, some of the affected officers would be better used in other fields like managing the card reader and others.
“Some of them, we realised could be influenced by politicians to undermine the process and that is what we are trying to avoid,” he said.
He said the change affected virtually all the officers participating in the exercise, assuring that the action would not undermine the process.
