JERUSALEM – Israeli forces have arrested 65 more Palestinians following the disappearance of three Israeli teenagers, the army spokesperson said on Wednesday.
The Spokesman for the Israel Defence Forces (IDF), Lt.- Col. Peter Lerner made the statement in Jerusalem.
The latest arrests brought the number of Palestinians detained to 240 since Friday, including 51 former prisoners released in 2011 in exchange for long-detained Israeli soldier, Gilad Shalit.
“Eyal, Gilad and Naftali communities are still in the hands of Hamas terrorists.
“Our forces are operating day and night, turning every stone, in order to find them,’’Lerner said.
Eyal Yifrah 19, Gilad Shaar 16 and Naftali Frenkel 16, are students at a Jewish seminary and were last seen on late Thursday at a common hitchhike stop near the Gush Etzion settlement of Hebron.
However no organisation has claimed responsibility for the disappearance, which Israeli Government blamed on Hamas militants. (dpa/NAN)
