JAMB has now released the brochure for 2017/18 UTME. Below you will see the different brochures for JAMB Degree (University), College of Education, Polytechnics and Innovative Enterprise Institute candidates.
Every year, applicants (both UTME & Direct Entry) get access to the JAMB brochure when they register. However, many candidates want to get hold of the brochure long before registration starts, which makes a lot of sense.
If you ask me, I would even advise that JAMB brochures be made available officially to secondary school students. This is especially useful for students preparing for WAEC because they already know which O’level subjects are required for the course they aspire to study. If they knew these subjects, maybe they would take them more serious than they normally would.

The JAMB portal where the official brochure should be accessible has been down for more than two years now. Year in, year out, candidates preparing for UTME and those applying for admission via Direct Entry look all over the internet to download soft copies of JAMB Brochures. How To Use The Official JAMB Brochure PDF Document
After downloading the brochure document to your device, open it with a PDF reader. You will see about 4 major columns;
1. Course/Degree Awarding Institution
Under this, you will see the courses listed. Just below every course/programme of study, are the names of institutions that offer this course. This could be a University, Polytechnic, Monotechnic, College of Education, College of Agriculture or any specialized institution.
2. Requirements
This column is sub-divided into two columns. It contains the requirements for UTME candidates (O’level result) and DE candidates (Diploma results).
3. UTME Subjects
This third column on the JAMB brochure contains the subject combination that is required of the candidate who have chosen a course to attempt in the exam (UTME).
4. Special Considerations (Waivers) Remarks
This column of the brochure contains information that may differ from one school to the other.
For example, a particular institution may accept Agricultural science in lieu of Biology. Some schools may not accept Direct Entry candidates. Such information will be available in the fourth column to help you choose right.
