Jang swears in new commissioners, reshuffles cabinet

JOS – Gov. Jonah Jang of Plateau State on Thursday in Jos swore in four new commissioners to replace the four that recently resigned to pursue their political ambitions.

Among the new commissioners are Mr Abubakar Mohammed, posted to Ministry of Information to replace Mrs Olivia Dazem, who was moved to Ministry of Justice.

Others were Mr Chris Kwaja, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr GyangTanko, Ministry of Works, while AringsYaki is in charge of water resources.

Jang also reshuffled the cabinet with Dr Athanasius Dashen and Dr Paul Wai of the Ministry of Science and Technology, as well as Ministry of Education swapping places.

In a brief speech after swearing in the new commissioners, the governor urged them to dedicate their energy to serving the state so as to leave legacies to generations yet unborn.

He reiterated the state government’s determination to tackle corruption and laxity, and vowed to sanction anyone involved in such. (NAN)
