Kafin-Hausa (Jigawa) – The Kafin-Hausa Local Government Council in Jigawa on Wednesday said that it had spent over N12 million on maintenance of boreholes and construction of two health posts in the area.
The Council Chairman, Alhaji Garba Abdullahi, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kafin-Hausa that the health posts were located at Aduwa and Kidigeta communities in the area.
He said that the construction and furnishing of the health facilities cost over N8.5 million, while over N2.5 million was spent on the procurement of drugs.
The chairman noted that the facilities had been handed over to the Primary Health Care Manager in the area, Alhaji Abdullahi Gidan-Dallah, for proper management.
He said that he advised Gidan-Dallah during the hand over to engage adequate and qualified medical personnel to run the health facility.
Abdullahi noted that the health posts would enhance access to medical facilities at the hard-to-reach areas.
The council chief said that over N2 million was spent on procurement of hand pumps and other spare parts for boreholes in the area.
