Dutse – The Kazaure Emirate Council in Jigawa has given alms (Zakkat) of grains worth N2.5 million to 1,763 less privileged persons in two district councils under its domain.
Malam Gambo Garba, the emirate’s spokesman, announced this to newsmen on Tuesday in Dutse.
Gambo said that the food items were distributed to deserving families in Amaryawa and Achilafiya communities.

He explained that the Emir, Alhaji Najib Hussain, called on the people in the emirate to live in peace with one another and pray for continued peace in the area, the state and the nation in general.
The spokesman added that the Chairman of Zakkat Collection and Distribution Committee of the council, Alhaji Bala Muhammad, commended individuals who voluntarily gave out alms in support of the needy.
According to him, Muhammad also urges other wealthy persons to support the vulnerable, to reduce poverty in the society. (NAN)
