Dutse – The wife of Jigawa Governor, Hajiya Hasina Muhammad Badaru, on Wednesday donated first aid kits to the state’s chapter of the Jama’atu Nasrul Islam (JNl).
Badaru, represented by Hajiya Mariya Ali, the Leader of First Group of female wing of the JNI in Kano, announced the donation while speaking with newsmen during a workshop on “The menace of Girl Child Abuse’’, organised by the association in Dutse.
Ali said the items donated to the female first aid group of the association to include, first aid kits, stretchers, assorted drug and uniforms.
She noted that the gesture was to assist the association in overcoming emergency situations.
“The governor’s wife has promised to do more in assisting women and children in the state, that is why this workshop was organised to address the menace of girl-child abuse in the state and the nation in general,’’ she said.
Also speaking, the JNI’s Secretary in the state, Malam Muhammad Ahmad, warned parents to desist from sending their girl children on street hawking.
Ahmad noted that girls sent on street hawking mostly fell victims of rape. (NAN)
