Dutse – The Yankwashi Local Government Council of Jigawa has constituted a 10-member committee to supervise the 2016 animals’ vaccination exercise in the area.
The council’s Information Officer, Malam Danjuma Sa’adu, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday in Dutse.
Sa’adu said the committee is headed by the council’s Caretaker Committee Chairman, Alhaji Ado Maiunguwa, while Alhaji Muhammad Ibrahim, is the Secretary.
He said that other members of the committee included councillors, Head of Agric. Department, the Local Government’s APC Chairman and a Member of the Caretaker Committee.
The spokesperson quoted the chairman of the committee as urging the members to discharge their duty with probity and fear of God.
According to him, the committee is to enlighten and mobilise herdsmen, farmers and other animal rearers on the need to make their animals available for the vaccination.
NAN reports that the 2016 animals’ vaccination exercise will be launched by Gov. Muhammad Badaru, in Birniwa Local Government Area of the state on Monday, May 15.
NAN also reports that during the exercise, over 600,000 cattle, sheep, goats and dogs across the 27 local government areas of the state were expected to be vaccinated. (NAN)
