GURI – Guri Local Government Council of Jigawa is to spend N29 million on the execution of rural development projects, its Chairman, Alhaji Haruna Dauda, has said.
Dauda told newsmen in Guri on Saturday that the projects included a N12.7 million contract for the construction of a fence around Guri grave yard.
He also said the council had awarded a N6 million contract for the execution of the Guri-Zugo road project as well as another for the completion of the Phase II Guri-Gurjiya electrification project expected to cost N5million. [eap_ad_1] Dauda said the council also awarded a N1.8 million contract for the provision of hand pumps in some selected communities to ensure access to safe drinking water.
The chairman reiterated the council’s commitment to executing viable projects to boost the social and economic development of the area.
He, however, urged residents of the council to protect public infrastructure. (NAN)
