Lagos – The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 81 Division of the Nigerian Army, Maj-Gen. Isidore Edet, on Thursday said that joint military training was vital for enhanced performance in operations.
The GOC made the remark when he received the new Flag Officer Commanding (FOC) Western Naval Command, Rear Adm. Ferguson Bobai, who was on a familiarisation visit to the headquarters of the 81 Div.
He said that the military had been succeeding in its various operations due to its intensive exercises and joint military training over the years.
Edet congratulated the FOC on his new appointment, assuring him that the army and the navy would continue to collaborate in order to improve the security in Lagos and environs.
Bobai, in his remarks, said that his visit was to announce his arrival as well as seek support of the army in order to ensure adequate security.
The FOC reiterated the need for both the army and navy to cooperate in order to ensure the growth of the country. (NAN)
