As Nigerians continued to pour encomium on former President Goodluck Jonathan for conceding defeat to President Muhammadu Buhari in the 2015 presidential elections, his former Senior Special Assistant,(SSA) on Youth and Student Affairs, Comrade Jude Imagwe, weekend said there should be recommendation from Nigerians for the former president to be considered for the Nobel Peace Prize.
Besides, he also carpeted former Governor of Bayelsa State, Timipre Sylva, who was widely reported to have stated that “Jonathan’s conceding of defeat was not an achievement” and as such the former
President should not be given a hero’s status.
Imagwe, who spoke to newsmen in Benin City, Edo State, shortly after a thanksgiving service for his successful tenure as SSA at the Saint John Vianney Catholic Church, Ohoghobi near Benin reiterated that Jonathan’s singular act disappointed doomsday prophets who had predicted that the Country would be plunged into bloodshed after the 2015 general elections.
According to him, Former President Goodluck Jonathan deserves Nobel Peace Prize for conceding defeat to President Muhammadu Buhari in the 2015 presidential elections because it was an action that disappointed doomsday prophets who had predicted that the Country would be plunged into bloodshed after the general elections.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”70560″]
“I believe if there is anything higher than a Nobel Peace Prize is what Goodluck deserve because at a time when people have prophesied doomsday for Nigeria his singular action restore peace, at a time when the beneficiary will not have done what Jonathan did by conceding defeat to restore peace.”
“Again Jonathan acted at a time people were running away from this Country for fear of what the enemy of the Country have prophesied and at the end his utterances restored peace. Any man that says he is not qualified for the Nobel Peace Prize is being unpatriotic and insincere, the man himself knows he is not truthful to himself and to the Country” he said.
