Olisa remaked that Nigerians are generally tired of the change promised by the opposition party
He said that he is confident about the fact that the PDP will win the 2019 presidential election Osi Olisa, a chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), in Rivers state, has said that the former president, Goodluck Jonathan willingly stepped out of office for the All Progressives Congress (APC) so as to reveal the ruling party’s inadequacies.
Olisa, who is also the local government chairman of Ogba, Egbema, Ndoni areas of the state, stated that the APC before its emergence in 2015 had mounted pressure on the PDP government with claims to stabilize the nation, but said that Jonathan gave them the opportunity so as to point Nigerians to the truth about the party, Vanguard reports.
In his response to claims that over 100 members of the PDP defected to the APC in the Onelga region of the state, Olisa on Tuesday, March 6, noted that Nigerians are tired of the promised change. He added that no normal individual would want to join the APC in the midst of the nation’s hardship. However, the Onelga council boss, advised people of the state to go and get registered in the on going voters’ registration exercise so as to be qualified to vote in the 2019 election. He affirmed that the opposition party is capable of winning the election.
He said: “What President Goodluck Jonathan was to willingly relinquish power to the APC so that people will know that all they (APC) are promising will not be fulfilled. As it stands now that point has been proven that APC cannot save this country. People are tired of the APC and they want to join the PDP, nobody in ONELGA has left the PDP.”
