Kano – The Judicial Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), Kano State branch, has called on its members to shun the ongoing strike by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC).
The Chairman of the Kano state chapter of JUSUN, Alhaji Mukhtar Lawan, made the call in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), in Kano on Friday.
He said, “High Courts, Magistrates and Sharia Courts in the State should ignore the strike in their respective places of work in the interest of the country.”
According to him, all members of JUSUN on Thursday decided to call off the strike following the court order on the issue.
He said, “the decision is based on court order on Nigeria Labour Congress by the National Industrial Court not to embark on the strike.
“Since we are judiciary workers, we have no other option than to obey the court order”, he said.
NAN reports that following the directive, most of the courts in Kano reopened on Friday while others are expected to open on Monday. (NAN)
