Abuja (Sundiata Post) –  Senate President, Dr.  Bukola Saraki, has just arrived Benue State where he is received by the governor of the State,  Governor Samuel Ortom.

Though the purpose of his visit was not clear at the time of filing this report,  but Sundiata Post gathered that it may not be unconnected with the mindless killings allegedly perpetrated by Fulani herdsmen in the state.

Sundiata Post recalls the recent mass burial conducted in the state as a result of the killings  that took place in a Catholic Church where about 17 parishioners and 2 Catholic priests were killed during church service.

Recall also that Catholic priests in the country staged a protest last week Tuesday in condemnation of the incessant killings in Benue State and other States across the country targeted at Christians and religious houses.  The men in Cassor called on the Federal Government to take urgent steps to curb the senseless killings by marauding herdsmen.

The delegates who accompanied the Senate President are: Senator Barnabas Gemade (Benue North East), Senator George Akume (Benue North West),  Senator Rasak Raji of Ekiti state and Senator Emmanuel Bwacha of Taraba State.
