Abuja (Sundiata Post) – Hon Justice Umaru Abdullahi has tasked the judiciary to protect Nigerians and ensure citizens are allowed to enjoy their fundamental human rights.
He made the Call on Monday while declaring open the three-day retreat on the administration of criminal Justice system for the Katsina state Judges and stakeholders in Abuja.
According to Justice Umaru, “our citizens need to be protected, given their rights and be allowed to enjoy their fundamental human rights.
He condemned the situation where citizens awaiting trials are kept in detention for a long time without trial. He said that keeping People in detention is bad and that by so doing, many people are being hurt.
