KADUNA – The Kaduna State House of Assembly has received 20 bills during the fourth session of its legislative year which ended on Wednesday.
The Deputy Speaker Mr Peter Adamu said this on Wednesday while announcing the end of the legislative year.
He said during the year the assembly had a total of 197 sittings.
“Seven bills were passed, 29 motions adopted while 116 resolutions were treated during the period under review.
“This feat so far recorded was due to the good working relationship between members and the executive arm of government.
“We are assuring the good people of Kaduna state of continuous cordial relationship with other arms of government,” he said.
He urged the various committees of the assembly to step-up their legislative functions especially in the area of oversight.
Adamu also appealed to the Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), to ensure that there are working in accordance with the approved budget.
He promised that the law makers would continue to enact laws that would improve the living standards of the citizens. (NAN
