KAFANCHAN (KADUNA STATE) – The Kaduna State Government said it would partner with [pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]International Donor Agencies to improve the quality of basic education in the state.

Alhaji Ibrahim Ali, the state Commissioner for Education, said this on Friday during the presentation of [pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]certificates to 22 staff of Kaduna State College of Education (KSCOE), Gidan Waya.
Ali said that the staff were trained under the Education Sector Support Programme In Nigeria (ESSPIN).
He stressed the need for partnership in education development in view of the enormous resources required to run the sector successfully.
“The government has education as one of its priority programmes and it is determined to meet the [pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]required standard,” he said.
Also speaking, Mr Ishaya Akau, Chairman, State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), expressed gratitude to ESSPIN for saving the educational system from total collapse.
Akau said the intervention of ESSPIN had contributed to capacity development of staff in the sector to meet up with modern trends in teaching and learning.
The National Programme Manager of ESSPIN, Mr Kayode Sanni, urged the recipients to consolidate on the gains of the programme to ensure sustainability.
Sanni said the sponsors of the programme would gradually withdraw in the future, adding that “recipients and other stakeholders will have to assume ownership for sustainability”.
Responding on behalf of the recipients, Dr Simon Yohana, said they would use the knowledge acquired to turn around the education sector in the state. (NAN)
