KADUNA – Alhaji Hamza Ikara, Health Education Officer, Kaduna State Primary Health Care Agency, said on Friday in Kaduna, that 3.4 million children were immunized against polio during the October immunisation.
Ikara, who spoke in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), said the figure represented 100 per cent of the targeted population.
He said that the exercise, conducted in the 23 local governments areas, was a great success.
“Kaduna is making steady progress in the fight against polio and we believe polio will be eradicated finally in the state.
“The state has been free from polio infections in the past 23 months; we hope to continue working hard to record more success,” Ikara said. [eap_ad_2] According to him, recent survey from Load Quality Assessment (LQA), shows the state have recorded 100 per cent success.
He said that the state was working hard in achieving success over non-compliance and resistance by some beneficiaries.
“We experienced non-compliance by some local government areas due to political issues, we have to call their attention and call for dialogue to resolve the issue,”
He said that additional mop up would come up on Monday, Oct. 13 in some selected local government areas. (NAN) [eap_ad_3]
