Kaduna – The Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) has said that it is taking assessment on the level of damage from the recent attack in Kajuru Local Government Area, Kaduna.
The Executive Secretary of the agency, Ben Kure, made this known on Thursday in Kaduna, while donating relief materials to the victims of the attack.
Kure said the state governor, Nasir El Rufai, had directed the agency to provide immediate assistance to the victims.
Represented by the, Director, Disaster and Relief Management, Yau Mahmood, Kure said SEMA’s assessment team were already in Kajuru to get the full extent of damage of the attack.
He mentioned the items distributed to include rice, blankets, matrasses, noodles, palm and vegetable oil.
He said the gesture was to cushion the suffering of the victims who were displaced from their homes during the attack.
Responding on behalf of the Kajuru people, Ruth Marcus, Director, Education and Social Development Kajuru Local Government Area, commended the state government for the donation.
“I am using this medium to commend SEMA for the assistance it has been given to victims of disasters in the state, she said.
She assured SEMA of the immediate distribution of the items to the families of the victims.
Marcus also thanked the state government over measures taken to address the security challenges in the area.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Kaduna State Government, had on Wednesday imposed 6am to 6pm curfew on Kajuru and parts of Chikun Local Government Area.
