ADUNA – The Kaduna State Government has spent N465.4 million on the rehabilitation of 79 roads across the 23 local government areas of the state, Mr Ishaya Yem, General Manager, Kaduna State Public Works Agency, has said.
Yem told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Kaduna that 47 of the roads were within Kaduna metropolis, 18 in Zaria and 14 in Kafanchan.
He said that the rehabilitation work was carried out between January and May, and involved the filling up of potholes to enhance safety for road users.
Yem said that the rehabilitation of the roads had been completed and the agency would soon embark on the second phase.
According to him, the agency will undertake the rehabilitation of 47 other roads in the second phase with effect from July.
Yem warned politicians to stop using traffic light poles as billboards, adding that the agency would sanction anyone caught. (NAN)
