Kaduna – Kaduna State Government will take concrete steps over the next four years to reform land administration in the state, Mr Samuel Aruwan, Special Assistant on Media to Governor Nasiru El-Rufa’i, has said.
Aruwan told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Kaduna that reforming the land administration would enhance rural economy and empower local people.
“Agriculture, food security and reform of land administration is a basis for wealth creation and capital formation, while preserving and enhancing environmental management,” he said.
The governor’s spokesman also said that the new administration would conduct its affairs differently as it intended to set the state on the path of progress.
“It will not be business as usual,” Aruwan said., adding that huge investment would be made in restoring education and health sectors in the state.

Aruwan said that part of the measures to be adopted was the decentralisation of authority to make public officers more responsive and accountable.
“We are keen on bringing about good governance based on competence and responsiveness with no tolerance for corruption,” he said.
According to him, the transition committe set up by El-Rufa’i is still working to come up with a plan on which the administration would proceed. (NAN)
