Abuja (Sundiata Post) – Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El’Rufai could not hide his joy as he hosts his old boss and former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo in Kaduna State.
El’Rufai in his twitter handle @ elrufai said, “It was nice to host my boss, former President Obasanjo in Kaduna, as part of activities in the on-going Kaduna Trade Fair”.
Obasanjo’s visit is part of activities in the on-going 38th edition of Kaduna International Trade Fair Scheduled to take place from 24th February to March 2017.
Sundiata Post recalls that the governor of Kaduna State first came to political lime-light as the minister of Federal Capital Territory during President Obasanjo’s tenure in office as the elected president of Nigeria in May 29, 1999; a position he occupied throughout the duration of that administration.
The excitement of the governor may not be unconnected with the appreciation and acknowledgement that his ascension to power as governor of Kaduna State would perhaps not have be visible without the opportunity offered him to serve as minister in his (Obasanjo’s) cabinet.
Sundiata Post also recalls that the closest the duo has come before 2015 election was in Obasanjo’s latest book “My Watch” where he describes Mr. El-Rufai as “a brilliant man but economical with the truth,”
This is the first time the Kaduna State governor is hosting former President Obasanjo since he assumed office about twenty one months ago.
