KAFANCHAN – Kachia Local Government of Kaduna State on Tuesday distributed sewing machines, wheel chairs, tricycles, Hilux trucks, laptops and transformers worth N86.2 million to women and youths in the Area.
Chairman of the council, Mr Peter Agite, said in Kafanchan that N86.2 million was approved by the State Government as LGA SURE-P intervention.
Agite said the community was known for ginger production and stressed the need for government to address insecurity so as to boost agriculture in the state.
He urged beneficiaries to utilise the items judiciously and make meaningful impact in their livelihood.
Earlier, Gov. Ramalan Yero urged beneficiaries to be prudent in managing the items.
“The items are meant to add value to human existence and create sustainable wealth for our people’’, he said.
Yero cautioned youths against illicit behaviours and criminality.
He enjoined the communities to embrace peace as prerequisite for meaningful development.
One of the beneficiaries, Mrs Grace Andy, of Nadauchi village, said the sewing machine would spur her to own her sewing outfit.
Also, Mr Gideon Ango of Madakiya road, commended government for its gesture adding that the donation of a tricycle will enable him to cater for his family. (NAN)
