Kano – Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State has approved N560.2 million for the payment of eight months’ salary arrears for 1,857 newly-employed teachers in the state.
This is contained in a statement signed by Alhaji Mustapha Fagge, Public Relations Officer in the office of the state Head of Civil Service.
According to the statement, the Head of Service, Alhaji Muhammad Na’iyya, announced the approval when he inspected the ongoing screening exercise for the newly-recruited teachers.
The screening is being held at the Salaries and Wages Directorate in Kano.
The statement also disclosed that government had paid N71.9 million as October salary to the newly- recruited teachers.

It, however, said that all the teachers would be screened before they could receive the arrears.
The statement urged the teachers to reciprocate the gesture by dedicating themselves to their duties. (NAN).
