Kano – The Kano State Government has re-affirmed its commitment to women empowerment in the state.
This is contained in a statement signed by Fatihu Isa, the Public Relations Officer of the state Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, and issued to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kano on Wednesday.
According to the statement, the newly-appointed Commissioner of Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajiya Yardada Bichi, made the pledge while taking over the affairs of the ministry from her predecessor.
Yardada said the State government had planned to executive various programmes aimed at empowering women in the State.
She urged the staff of the ministry to cooperate with the management for the attainment of the desired objective.
