Kano – The Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) has commended electricity customers in Bichi Local Government area of the state for heeding its advice on energy conservation.
This is contained in a statement signed by the company’s Public Relations Officer, Mohammed Kandi, which was issued to newsmen in Kano on Tuesday.
According to the statement, the adoption of the energy conservation may not be unconnected with the series of campaigns carried out by officials of the company recently.
The statement quoted the company’s Chief Customer Relations Officer (CCRO), Malam Abubakar Yusuf, as saying “the management of KEDCO is quite impressed with reports that most customers in Bichi are already conserving energy in their various homes and places of business.

“From the reports reaching us, it was observed that majority of customers in the area seem to have replaced the popular yellow bulbs with white ones.
“This means our daily community engagement is already yielding positive results in the area,” the statement said.
The statement stressed the need for every customer on the KEDCO network to emulate residents of Bichi by ensuring that they always used energy saving white bulbs, unplugged electrical appliances after use and avoided overloading electrical outlets.
It said the company would continue to carry out energy conservation campaigns in order to curtail energy wastage by customers.
The statement urged consumers in other communities to make the best use of the campaigns, so as to benefit from its full potential. (NAN)
