Kano – Kano State Drugs and Medical Consumables Supply Agency, has established a Logistics Management Co-ordinating Unit (LMCU) to curtail the inflow and outflow of health commodities in the state.
Mr Magaji Zarena, the Managing Director of the agency disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kano on Tuesday.
“We are going to upgrade it to a standard level so that it will reach the national standard,” he said.
Zarena said that in the first quarter of the year, the agency would scale up its four zonal stores, which would activate another medical store at Gaya.
He added that the agency was landscaping its sites, both the new and old, to hasten the actualisation of plan of the agency.
He explained that in February, the agency was going to do a tendering process to get as many items as possible at cheaper rates, “which can be affordable to the general populace’’.
He said that all the zonal stores would be renovated before the end of March.
