Kano Pillars is set to play two friendly games against the Hearts of Oak and Ghana U23 national side during their one-week training tour of Ghana in preparation for the 2015 Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League campaign.
The Nigeria league champions’ delegation departed the country on Tuesday, Feburary 2, after the end of the Super Four pre-season tournament where they finished third with seven points from five games.
Sai Masugida will kick-off their campaign in the elite continental competition against South Sudanese club Al-Malakia in the preliminary stages with the first leg slated for the weekend of February 13-15 at the Juba Stadium.

In a telephone chat from Accra, the vice Chairman of the Kano Pillars’ continental campaign committee, Ibrahim Galadima, disclosed to Goal.com that the team will play Hearts of Oak on Thursday and Ghana U23 on Sunday.
Galadima also said that the team will return to the country on Monday, Feburary 9 after the two games to finalise their preparation for the trip to South Sudan.
“We arrived in Ghana safely and the delegation visited the Nigeria High Commissioner to Ghana, Ambassador Ademola Oluseyi today (Wednesday). We have secured two friendly matches – one with Accra Hearts of Oak and the Ghana U23 national team both games are fixed for Thursday and Sunday respectively. The team will return on Monday,” Galadima told Goal.com
Okey Emordi’s men will hope to reverse their previous poor outing this time when they begin their campaign in South Sudan after failing to get past the first round in last two attempts.
