Kano – The Kano State Government, in partnership with the European Union, is to design a new programme to find ways to improve the implementation of its existing business regulatory frameworks.
This was announced by the representative of Growth and Employment Agency of the state government (GEMS3) , Mr Muhammad Zubair, at a one-day interactive session organised for stakeholders on Tuesday in Kano.
According to Zubair, the session, tagged Business Licensing Reform (BLR), is aimed at improving the business framework
in the state to take it to a higher standard.
He stressed that the main objective of the programme was to reduce the cost and time of businesses in dealing with regulations.
The representative further explained that this would be achieved through the review, streamlining and improvement of information
access about existing federal and state government licence permit and registration processes.
“We can also achieve this by improving the quality of new regulation affecting business which required the participation of public and private stakeholders,” he said.
