ZARIA (KADUNA STATE) – The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Kano Zone, on Friday appealed to Gov. Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State to wade into the lingering crisis rocking the Lagos State University (LASU).
Dr Rabiu Nasiru, Kano zone ASUU coordinator, made the appeal during a news briefing held at the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria.
“Having spent the last two years observing and analysing the lingering crisis in LASU, we believe that the crisis is largely caused by disregard for established norms in the university governance.
“ASUU-Kano zone is therefore calling on Gov. Babatunde Fashola to intervene by sending a visitation panel to the university as a means of addressing the problem.
“Failure to do so will only plunge the university into further crisis and instability.
“We urge Gov. Fashola to act swiftly to avert further degeneration of the crisis. (NAN)
