Kaduna – Dr Audee Giwa, a senior lecturer at the Kaduna State University (KASU), has unveiled two literary books – “Love in the Afternoon” and “Ancestoral Wrath”.
Giwa, who teaches English Literature, unveiled the books in Kaduna on Thursday, during an event tagged, “Distinguished Author with Dr Audee Giwa”, organised by the university.
He explained that “Love in the Afternoon” tells a story of love, betrayal, Karma and social awakening.
“The book exposes several layers of romantic escapades that will make even the clergy chuckle with silently embarrassing understanding.
“Love stories inspire people to do good things to fellow humans as against crime stories that only expose criminality in human society.
“Selfless love is what we need to build a united and strong nation. We should learn to love people for who they are, and not for what they are.
“We should learn to love selflessly without expecting anything in return,” he said.
Giwa, who is the author of the famous “I’d Rather Die!”, published in 1980, said that the “Ancestral Wrath”, attempts to tell a story of who we are, an exploration of what we dare not admit is true of us and our neighbours.
“The book also attempts to disclose what the present owes to the past.”
He described literary works as “mirror of the society” that awaken peoples’ consciousness about their progress and failures; about their past, the present and what the future holds.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Giwa has authored several books, among them Marks on the Run, From Fatima with Love, and Yarinya.
He is currently on loan to the Saudi Arabia Government as a Visiting Lecturer and a Visiting Academic to the University of Essex, England. (NAN)
