Katsina state Deputy Governor, Alhaji Mannir Yakubu, has enjoined Muslims to commit themselves to prayers even after the Eid-el-Kabir period.
The deputy governor, who made made the call in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) shortly after the Eid prayers on Tuesday in Katsina, said the current security challenges required complete dedication to contain.
Yakubu noted that prayer was a shield to everyone against any evil in the state, hence the need for Muslims in the state and the country in general, redouble efforts.
He said that the present security situation in the country, especially in the North, required continued prayers for divine intervention to get the country out of the situation.
Yakubu explained that government at all levels were doing their best to improve the lots of the citizens, and therefore needed support to continue the good work.
