Katsina – The Katsina State Government has recruited 530 health workers in a bid to improve service delivery in its General Hospitals, Hajiya Mariyatu Usman, the state Commissioner for Health, said on Monday.
Usman told newsmen in Katsina that the employees were recruited on merit in a transparent exercise conducted by a consultancy firm.
The commissioner said that medical personnel from all parts of the country were employed and would be issued with their letters of appointment in the next few days.
“The recruitment of the health workers was done across the 17 cadres of medical lines to provide health care delivery in the state.
“All the newly recruited health workers will be issued with their appointment letters this week.
“This is an unprecedented achievement that will go a long way in improving service delivery at the General Hospitals that the new medical staff will be posted.
“The State Government has also engaged medical consultants on Locum basis from teaching hospitals to improve service delivery and quality of care in general hospitals in the state,’’ she said.
